    1. Ema it thrills me to no end to read this! Seriously. This blog and putting this to paper (as it were) and sharing this journey with you and God and everyone, in the hopes that I could help someone else, do it smarter and have an easier time of it, makes this struggle all worth it. Thank you so much for letting me know. Thanks for being my cheerleader, please let me know how your doing on your journey so I can return the favor and be your cheerleader too!

    2. I'm definatly working on it. I was just diagnosed with an extremely sluggish thyroid (explains a lot) and was told that I am the first in my family and that it is a genetic mutation (don't I just have the LUCK!?)But yay, it's treatable! I love being able to follow your journey and hearing more about you! (especially those Monday Funnies!) Hugs and cheers to your accomplishments! (I will be starting up a blog to keep track of myself, I just need to find the gosh darn time!)

    3. Ema, the one most important thing on this journey that I've discovered....

If you make yourself the single most important thing in your life, you'll be amazed at how much time opens up to you to do the little things like keeping track of things like this.

I was trying to express to Queenie just how important it is to keep track of everything is. There are going to be times that it's just as important to NOT keep track too. Such as birthdays (anniversaries, lol), the holidays and so on, but those are going to be times that you'll set up ahead of time and stick to it. So you'll have those parameters in your head, ahead of time. However beyond that, every time you open up your gob you've got to keep track of what goes into it. For those of us who've put on the weight because we're emotional eaters (like me) and have used food to soothe our souls we've put on so much weight because we've not kept track of what's gone into our mouth. What's going to help us get the weight off, I'm a very firm believer is keeping track of what goes in it. If you have to write it down or track it....will you eat it? Chances are likely, no, you won't. If you are being faithful to yourself and your eating plan. If you aren't then why are you doing it? As one of my psych profs said in college anything else is just mental masturbation. It's a rather crude way to put it, but it's pretty accurate in my opinion. So that's the route I've taken and it's worked thus far. When I started Weight Watchers The Wonder One and I laid forth that our birthdays (pretty much the month of June, since they're only 2 weeks apart) Thanksgiving, Christmas & our anniversary are weeks that we'd take off. We knew that we'd gain weight but we'd also try not to go hog wild neither.

So we built in some down time into our plan so that we wouldn't go crazy. Hope that helps you in how we decided how to deal with eating and special occasions.

I can't wait to see your blog and to follow you in return!
