Well, it's been a while hasn't while hasn't it?

Oy!

Talk about it being a while now hasn't it?

Well, if you're still checking in, (I ask you, WHY!?) then I will have to apologize for the long absence.  So very very sorry to have been gone for so long.

Last time I was here, I hadn't as of yet, started back to school.  As you can imagine, I'm something of an emotional/stress eater.  Yep.  All the hard work put in gone.  I've gained back all the weight and then some.  I had gotten up to 293/4 (can't recall off the top of my head which) and I've taken some of it off since getting semi-serious about getting back into the groove of things.

When I was doing this before, I had started as a means to get healthy.  Then it became something that I did for a way to seek out exactly why I was wanting and needing to lose the weight.  Was it purely for intrinsic reasons? Or were there extrinsic factors at play?  For that I can't say.  I don't know.  I'm not that good at self-analysis.  However what I will say is this....

I liked how I felt before when I was losing weight and had things under control.

That being said.  How exactly do I get back to where I was?  The Man and I started out doing this together.  He lost a ton of weight and once he had hit his goal, I guess, I lost interest.  Nobody to compete with.  I guess I have to make it interesting for myself or else my ADHD kicks in and I lose interest.  So I guess, I just figured out why I fell off the WW wagon.  Now I just have to climb back on.

The past little over a year or so in review....
  •  I went back to school so that I could no longer be an LPN (low paid nurse) but an RN (real nurse) and be able to have more opportunities open up for me professionally speaking.
    • Which got me to thinking about the weight I lost.
      • How can I in good conscience be an effective medical professional when I'm obviously unhealthy?
        • Get back at it was my answer
  • I finally got a "real job" in my field! Woohoo!  However, shifty things are afoot.  So how long it lasts is anyone's guess.
  • At school I started working in the lab.  I help underclassmen with their assignments, mentoring, tutoring (to an extent) and in some instances, actually end up teaching.  Because yanno, the damn brats don't pay attention to begin with and listen the first time when they are in class, lol.
  • I was the first responder not once but twice for the barnacle.  Which got me to thinking some more.
    • If I don't get this weight off, will I end up like her? Like my father?  He died at 52 from a heart attack.
      • Yeah, it could very seriously happen
  • I became a vegetarian
    • For the exact reasons stated above.
      • Yes there are days where I still occasionally eat meat.  However I try to limit how often and it's never red meat, usually only chicken.
  • I got a Fitbit to help me in tracking my progress.
    • I use it to track
      • Steps walked
      • Water drank
      • My daily blood sugar
  • Oh yeah, and I drink a TON more water!
So those are the things I've done in the last month to get started.  Now I'm back here doing this.  I always believed in order to be successful at losing weight you HAVE to track everything!  I noticed, when I stopped tracking is when I started eating poorly.  When I stopped blogging/journaling and having "someone" to answer to, the same, I started eating poorly.

So here it all is.  The good, the bad and the fat.  I still am not looking to be thin, just healthy and a good role model for those I plan on taking care of.

So it's Wednesday...

So today is the OFFICIAL first weigh in being back to the ...*ahem* program.  I was trying not to look at this in a negative light.  It's so easy to do.  Especially when I've so far to go and all you can see is how big the number is at the end.  I always end up thinking of some or another comedian's joke who said:

"Yanno what a diet is? It's die with a *t* at the end of it."
He/she says it very deadpan and it gets lots of yucks.  But sometimes, it's not easy when you've got what you see to be, as much weight to lose (to be honest, I may not have to lose a whole lot of weight to get healthy, but in my twisted and warped mind, I think I do) as I do.

So here I am, tiptoe-ing up on the scale, as if I could sneak up on it and hop on it to get a better number. lol I ate like I was supposed to all week.  I'm allotted on a daily basis 37 points (remember I'm doing Weight Watchers) and those points depending on what you eat can go by quickly or stretch on for miles. Then on top of those daily points I have 49 weekly *extra* points to do with what I will.  I can break those 49 points down so that I can have them daily or I can save them all up for one special occasion or I can just use them here and there.  As well, not to have this get even more confusing, lol, when you throw exercise into the mix that ADDS points to your 49 weekly points even!  Which is nice so you can have even more weekly points.  So if I went swimming for example and earned 3 points, I'd have a weekly total of 52 points.  Then if on Friday night wanted to go to happy hour with friends and have a beer and potato skins, I could because I have the extra points to do so.  Although, I have to say, I'd love the time with friends...I'd rather have the diet soda and have nachos instead, lol....and that's okay, I'd just need to account for it!

All that's to be said to kind of explain or refresh your memory (for those of you who've been following for a while) how all this works.  So last week, only 2 occasions did I use extra points for a total of 3 extra weekly points being used.  However! Most days, I'd venture a guess as to 5 of the 7, I didn't even hit the 37 points being used.

Hence, why I looked to today with some trepidation.

And I'm happy to say cheerleaders that I'm a big fat loser!!!

I'm down to 252!!! For a total lost this week of five pounds!  YAY!

So it’s Wednesday

As can be expected, I’ve not gained….nor lost any weight in a day.

YaY!

Lol, however, I will say that The Wonder One and I last night finished off the last of his decadent fudge.  There wasn’t much after having filled five tins to be sent to the far reaches of where they need to go and he looks at me and says “You know, we should just go ahead and eat it all tonight, that way it’s done.”  Of course I let him twist my arm into it (ouch ouch ouch)  and we did as we watched Hugh Jackman in Wolverine *sighhhhhh* .  It was definitely a guilty pleasure to be enjoyed.  Which I did, knowing it would be a lonnngggg time before I’d be doing it again, which I can live with.

Today, I’m going to the lab to have blood drawn because next week I go back to the doctor for a follow up regarding my diabetes.

When this all started what I wanted was to get healthy.  If I lost weight and got slimmer in the process, well then, yay me!  But back then when I weighed in at my most (286 lbs) I was having to inject 80 units of insulin a day as well as take a plethora of oral medications.  Well, after having lost the weight I have, even with putting some of it back on, I’m down to 26 units of insulin a day! YAY me!  Being a type  II diabetic means a few things for me.  Getting the weight off means that I can possibly get off the medications, but I have to get the weight off first.  It’s a daily struggle, that being said, I have bad weeks.  There are times when I don’t take my meds at all. I’m working on that along with my weight.  It’s all a process.

I will have considered myself successful if I can get to a manageable weight (note I said manageable?) that I can maintain for the rest of my life and be drug free from all of my diabetes medication at the same time.

This is truly about getting healthy, whether I like it or not.

So It's Wednesday...

Sad news this week Cheerleaders...

I had a slight gain, thankfully it was only a pound and I'm only up to 248.

The Wonder One and I had a graduation party over the past weekend and we ended up taking a LOT of food home from it (it's still difficult to say "thank you, but no thank you" to those who mean well) and ate on that for a number of days....come to think of it, I think there are still some wings in the fridge, lol.

But I'm okay with the one pound gain.  Reason being?  I've gotten up and around A LOT more this past week (working out and cleaning) for one and for two I got my measurements this past week.  I've not done that since this all started.

The odd thing about that is that while I can see where I've lost inches in many areas, in many areas, I've gained.  The Wonder One (who helped me take my measurements) and I figured that we probably didn't measure in the same areas and since it's been so long since the last time we measured, I've just got to suck it up and take it.

For a listing of my measurements, before and after, take a look at the above tab.

Thanks for stopping by!

So It's Wednesday...

Hi Cheerleaders!

This week has gone by so fast!  Work has kept me busy and I've been trying to work on the house here and there doing some purging.  Trying to get rid of some stuff that I either don't need or it's just been hanging around for who knows what reason.

What it translates into is movement.  Not just for me, but on the scale too!

Again this week I was a big fat loser!

I lost 1 pound!  Granted it's not a huge glorious number.  However, as long as those numbers are going down, I can live with whatever the size.  Be it going down.

Given human nature, yes, I'd like it to be quicker (lol, who wouldn't?) but, to be safe and to keep it off, I'll take slow.  After all, I do not want to have to ever revisit this!

Soooo my faithful Cheerleaders, how was your week?  Those of you on similar journeys?  How'd you do?  What challenges did you face and overcome?  If you didn't overcome them, maybe we can work on it together.

Comment below and share, let's work on this together.

So It's Wednesday...

Hi there Cheerleaders...

I’ll get right to the good stuff because I know that’s what you come here for, lol.

This week, I’m a big fat loser! (WooHoo!) Now granted, it’s not a huge loss, but hey, anything that’s gone is a good thing!  Better for it to be gone than for it to be coming back on is my motto!

This week I lost 2 pounds!  Down to 248!

I know that what I need to start doing on a regular basis is exercising.  I've done it before but it's been hit or miss.  What I need to do is I need to get into the habit of packing a bag and having it parked by the back door so when I leave in the morning it's with me and I just have it in the car taking it with me.  So that when I go out the door, it’s there and ready to go when I am.  That way when I get off work in the afternoon, I can go straight to the gym afterwards.  That was the game plan in the beginning.  Not going home until I’d worked out.  But then with the overwhelming stress and exhaustion of learning the new job … it all got to be a bit much and wore me down.

However I think I’m at a point where I’m ready to give it a go.  I’ve got a book downloaded to my ipod (along with some great music) and I’m ready to start working out again. I’m not so exhausted at night, when I get off work anymore.

So I believe that instead of making excuses not to exercise…

I’m just going to get it done.

Wish me luck!

So it's Wednesday...

It's that dreaded time of the week again Cheerleaders...

How DOES it manage to roll around so quickly?

Although I AM happy to report that again this week I am a big fat loser!

I lost 2 pounds this week taking me down to 250 even!  YaY!

Something that I've learned (and basically already knew, but just reaffirmed to myself) was that besides portion control and exercise the single BIGGEST thing to help in all of this is keeping track of what you're eating.  You don't have to be doing Weight Watchers or using anything fancy to track your food intake, but as I once told Queenie "If it goes in your gob, it gets tracked.  Period."

So, Cheerleaders, if you find that you're on a journey similar to mine, if I could only pass along one piece of advice to help you out.....and if you need to do it the old fashioned way....go to Barnes & Noble if you have to and get the most comprehensive calorie counter you can find, then get a notebook and find a pen.  Then start writing it down.  Start keeping track of what you're eating.  It really is that simple.

Once you see how much you're eating (and you're wanting to lose weight of course) you're going to start making smarter eating choices on your own so that you can reach your goals.

You can't reach your goals if don't start making the changes somewhere.

We all know....you have to start somewhere...

So It's Wednesday...

Hey there Cheerleaders!

So it’s been a while since I’ve done a weigh in post.

Given the fact that I’d not had much to talk about regarding my weight loss (primarily since there hadn’t been any) I just was discouraged and hadn’t posted.

Most of the problem stemmed from the fact that I had some major and when I say major I mean MAJOR water retention which caused me to gain quite a bit of weight that just would NOT come off.

For whatever reason, it finally started to come off and I’m happy to say I’ve come from a high of 265 (as of a week and a half ago) to 252 as of this morning!

So I am happy to say Cheerleaders that I AM a big fat loser! Lol

Thank God I’m able to post some good news.  It’s been a long time in coming.  Now I’m in a position to start back to working like I should on the program and my journey now that I know that my bladder is okay, my nerves have settled down.  I’ve already seen a slowing down of the free flow of the grazing that I was doing when I was a nervous wreck.  So I can say thankfully I didn’t gain a great deal back from that and now I can move forward.

I want to say thank you to you all for being here for me and all your well wishes.  It means so very much to both me and my family that you’ve been so very supportive.

Also, I’ve reached 50 Cheerleaders so I will be selecting one Cheerleader to receive a thank you box for all the support, once their name is drawn I’ll be in touch to let you know that your name has been drawn so that I can send out your package (It’ll contain a selection of items that have been reviewed since the start of this blog and a few other goodies) so that I can show you my appreciation.

Thank you again one and all!

It's Wednesday...

Good Morning Cheerleaders!

Sorry my posting has been so lean this past week and I have to tell you up front, it most likely will be for the next week or so.  The reason being is that I got a new job and it's keeping me busy and on the run.  When I get home at night I'm exhausted and darn near falling into bed!

I did get a good walk in last night with The Wonder One and I'll post the most adorable pic I took on that walk later this afternoon when I get home from work.

But right now I'm sure you're wanting to know how I did this week, right?

Well, I have to say, I'm sort of disappointed.  The reason being is because I was certain I was going to be a loser.  In a good way of course.  But I wasn't a gainer either (in a bad way, natch!) so for that I'm glad.

Looking back on the week, I didn't get to work out like I wanted to because I worked so much (both jobs, back to back on some days) and my Weight Watcher plan wasn't followed to the point as I would've normally liked because of the time crunch.

As I get used to this new adjustment, it'll just be a matter of figuring out what it'll take time organization wise to make it all work together.  The first step in it all was that last night The Wonder One showed me a really nice fitness path right next to where the new job is that is 1.2 miles so that is REALLY good for a start.  I can get that done right after work most days before I even get in the car and then BOOM my workout is done without even a second thought.

Thank GOD for The Wonder One!!  I love that man!

It's Wednesday...

Hey Cheerleaders!

We got something to cheer about!

This week's efforts and diligence brought forth some results I'm proud to say......that I'm a big fat LOSER!

I lost 2 pounds this week!  WooHoo!  Taking my grand total to 40 off and I'm down to 246!

YaY me!  Even with Aunt Flo in town to pay me a horrible visit (the bitch) and the need for chocolate overran all other sane synaptic firings in my head, it seems as though getting my shoes laced back up made the difference.  Which let's face it.  I knew it was just a matter of time that I was going to have to start really working back out again.  I had to.  You eat everyday, you should workout in some form or another for at least 20 minutes everyday.  At least that's how I look at it.  So I'm off to a good and practical start.

Give me time, I'll be buying clothes like my inspiration dress!

My wallet will be in tears....so will The Wonder One, lol.

It's Wednesday...

What a week it's been!

I'll just get straight to the point...yes Cheerleaders, I was a big fat loser! lol

I dropped 2 pounds this week taking me to 248!

Very happy indeed!  At least the scale is moving in the other direction this week.  I know that there are periods where the scale will spend several weeks going in the direction I want it to go in then all of a sudden for no reason at all it'll start moving in the opposite direction.  Very frustrating indeed.  *sigh*  That's why I do this and stick to this blogging, so that maybe I can see a pattern of sorts.  Or maybe there's no pattern and I just have to deal with the fact that there are just going to be times like this.

I don't know.

I guess it's just a matter of sucking it up I guess and moving forward and not wallowing in it and not letting it get me down.  I let it get me down then it wins.

I'm not going to let THAT happen, now am I?

It's Wednesday...

Well yesterday was Fat Tuesday...

Is there any coincidence that I gained weight this week? lol

Thankfully it was only a singular pound (but still a pound no less) ......boo to the pound!
Even though I'm not Catholic and don't really follow the teachings of Lent it was brought to my attention by a wise man in a conversation yesterday this philosophy [sic]
"Lent is for the sufference of Christ and all Christians should follow lent and not just the Catholics although they are the most faithful for the suffering of Christ... [****] I'm giving up red meat, pork and most sweets ( I gotta have my chewing gum)... Oh yeah and hard liquor..."
I had to say....that made sense.  Even though I consider myself a Christian, I don't lean towards any one particular religion.  I'm of the opinion that organized religion (now this is to me of course) doesn't make sense because each religion you come across says "obey this religion or else".  How can this be?  How can it be that you only follow one religion or else?  Why not believe in God and it works out?  *sighs*  Well I have faith and I listen to my heart and pray that it does and hope in the end.

I guess I look at dieting in much the same way.  All the diets say the same thing.  If you don't eat this particular diet you won't lose weight, but in the end, if you use common sense, put your fork down, move a little more...

Have a little faith (in yourself and the above)....it'll all work out in the end.

It has to.

Right?

Also....The Wonder One and I while never before having given anything up for lent before (really, I mean I had as a child but when I found out that it was a "Catholic thing" I thought it was disrespectful on my part to do so since I wasn't, so I stopped.  But since the wise man pointed out what the point of Lent was for Christians in general, I thought to myself  "Self...this is something you could and should do"  So The Wonder One and I talked about it and we're giving up ......... <insert drum roll>  pastries!  That should be painful enough.  I mean Lent is about suffering right? lol  Not to mention it'll help with points counting (there won't be any!) and weight loss (should be loads!)....so we'll see....

*I've not gotten permission to use the participants names from the conversation, that's why it's been bleeped out.  It was a fun and interesting conversation btw.

It's Wednesday...

Due to the fact that it was our anniversary this week, I knew that I wasn't going to be a loser.  As a matter of fact I gained.  Three pounds to be exact.  But that's okay.  I can live with it.

Why is it I'm so calm you may be wondering cheerleaders?

This is why...

Wednesday, February 8, 2012

It's Wednesday...

Well, this week I didn't go to the scale skipping and singing a joyous tune.  Yet I didn't have to be drug there either by my heels.

Which is probably reflected in my weight this week.

I stayed the same.

Odd to be neither a loser nor a gainer.  But to be honest, I'd rather be neither than to be a gainer. *cocks an eyebrow for effect*  But if I were to choose an ideal, I'd rather be a loser.

*sighs* Oh well, let's put this week behind us and onto next week.

..........I'm hungry, I wonder what there is to eat?

Wednesday, February 1, 2012

It's Wednesday...

So it's the dreaded weigh in day...

I knew it was going to be dreaded because as I was explaining to Queenie when she was starting Weight Watchers, she asked "How often do I have to keep track of what I eat?" I replied "Every time you open your gob".

After losing twelve pounds in two weeks, this past week there was some drama that had unfolded and it took us out into a situation that we weren't expecting and we had to go and eat and we were unable to track our food intake.  So I tried to make wiser choices.  Ate half of what I got and took the other half home (ate it the next day for lunch), shared an appetizer with The Wonder One instead of eating a whole one (which I used to do easily) and just drank my diet soda, getting teased by the bartender that "I was going to pee the bed that night"!  I told him "Depends"  he laughed at my play on words and went on to serve others.  As well there was some drama at work which put me into my uncomfortable zone of not knowing how to handle some situations and put me right back into that mindspace where I revert to my two best buddies....you know the boys...Ben?  Jerry?

So between the dramas and not getting to do the working out that I know I should have, there was some blow back.  So there was something to be learned this week.  What is it you may be wondering?  Well, what I learned in this week is that I needed to heed the advice that I gave Queenie and if I can't track it every time I opened my gob, then I don't eat it, that way I won't gain the 4 pounds that I did.  Granted, it was only four, and in the grand scheme of things, easily enough to come back off, however after having two good weeks, I was truly hoping for a third good one.  I've finally figured out that I truly HAVE to track everything because when I don't I'm just not going to meet my goals.

So I just got a wee bit too cocky with myself.  I can't take my eye off that ball (scale) for a second!

Help me cheerleaders!  lol Got to get in line to kick my butt to keep me on track!

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

It's Wednesday...

So today was filled with emotion as I walked my naked butt down to the scale and The Wonder One followed behind to squat down to verify (because let's face it, I can't see that far away, the little slashes all start blending together) what the scale was actually saying.

The first reading was what it was but then when I stepped off the scale slipped out of calibration which it sometimes does so I turned the little knob to put it back to zero.  Got back on.  I wasn't going to be hopping on and off this damn thing all day.  While I admit it was going to be good exercise for my body, it wasn't going to be for my nerves...

So The Wonder One squat back down and squinted (I swear I'm getting that man into a pair of glasses if it KILLS him!....note, NOT me!)  and he turned to look up at me and smiled.

242!!!  "Isn't that your lowest yet?" He asked

He got his answer as I happy danced naked off the scale and into the dressing area....

So here are a few things that I discovered and/or figured out...

  1. I'm back on track
  2. I'm 3 pounds away from new numbers
  3. I'm only 20 pounds away from my next goal!
  4. I moved my BMI down a more than half of a percentage point! whOOt!
  5. Instead of being nearly TEN percentage points into obese I'm now NINE, lol (gotta grab 'em where I can!)
  6. I'm ever closer to my Kindle!!! (I promised myself that I would reward my efforts with a Kindle when I broke 200 with a Kindle, lol, not going to give into the urge to get one beforehand!)
  7. All this is giving me my passion back to really get moving on this again and THAT. Is the most important thing.

It's Wednesday...

Well it's the dreaded weigh in day...

I think things are finally getting back to normal because I was a big fat LOSERRRRRR! lol

Given that over the past 7 weeks or so my weight has gone up and down more than a roller coaster it's nice to breathe a sigh of relief when the numbers are going down.  Now let's just hope that they'll be going down again next week! lol

However, I have good reason to refocus, The Wonder One and I have encouraged/inspired Queenie and The Wonder One's brother (Queenie and his brother are married for those keeping score) with The Wonder One's success (and mine too, marginal though they are) and so they are going on Weight Watchers as well.

So let the competition (unspoken though it is) begin! lol Which to be honest is going to help me tremendously, with The Wonder One having met his goal, I don't have anyone to compete with on a weekly basis, so it gets kinda lonesome when I weigh in, so it'll be nice to have that friendly rivalry with Queenie.

We'll have to have some sort of friendly stakes set up.  She's not needing to lose much and I have a lot more to go, especially since I had my set back there for *gasps* oh my nearly two months!  Yes, yes indeed I'm glad for the company!

Welcome aboard Queenie, enjoy the ride!

It's Wednesday...

So here we are in the new year.  I'm sure all of us has made some resolutions and some of you have already broken them.  Some I know don't even make them to begin with due to the fact that they've had such a terrible time in the past to keep them.

For me, that's where I fit in, I don't usually make them because I have such a difficult time keeping them.  This year I thought I'd try a different approach.  My resolution this year was to learn how to swim.  Yep, you read it correctly, learn. To. Swim.

I'm sure you're wondering how it came to be that I've reached the age I am and don't know how to swim.  Well, you see, when I was five years old, I nearly drowned.  I'm not fearful of water, as a matter of fact I find it very calming.  However the two that contributed to my DNA felt that after that experience, I probably shouldn't learn to swim because I'll probably be to afraid of it.  The only time I'm afraid of the water is when I went with The Wonder One last summer up to Alum Creek State Park and got into the water and then my feet went out from under me.  I completely panicked and totally spazzed out.  I think however it was just panic mode that caused me to freak out the way I did.  Normally I'm just not one to panic.  That time however was different.

So here I am now wanting to make sure that, that never happens again.  As well I figured it would be good exercise which I need more of, as well as to help me get over my fear of going on a cruise.  No, I'm not ever planning on taking a cruise.  Personally, being locked onto a moving city with no place to go (in between ports of course) and not being able to see land (that's what I've determined to be my biggest fear, is not seeing land) is not my idea of a good time.  Nothing against those of you who do love to go on cruise's, it's just not for me.  I know, I know, how do I know it's not for me if I've never been on one.  Well let's just say it goes back to that thing about wanting to be able to see land.  However if it should come to pass that I want to learn shuffleboard and play bingo with the blue hairs, then in 20-40 years, I may consider it.  Until then, I'll just learn to swim and be happy with that.

So the swimming it is.  For the experience of learning something new.  To help expand my exercise routine and to not freak out should I lose my footing in the water.

It's something I need to do because this week I was not a loser but a little bit of a gainer.  Which is okay, I think the holidays finally caught up to me to put me at 255.  I can live with that because we're in a new year and things are going to go smoothly.

I hope.

It's Wednesday...

So as I inferred in yesterday's post, I knew today was going to be bad.  However what I didn't expect was that it wasn't as bad as it ended up being.

I mean that to say, is that what I ended up gaining was only 2 pounds!

YaY!  I'm happy with that.  You may be a bit confused by that but I'll elaborate.  Given that I didn't count my WWPP points on Thanksgiving, nor on our actual "Thanksgiving" (the day we actually celebrated) then over the course of the next few days we grazed on left overs, I wasn't counting points at all....for like *ahem* 4 days to be exact.......*blushes at the realization*.

Well, it does pay to count those puppies I can tell you, lol.  While I never gorged....well......except for the one day when family all got together.  I think we all did that day though. I think had we not brought home any left overs, I would've done much better.  But that's okay.  When this all started, I knew from previous attempts at weight loss and interactions with other people and their attempts at weight loss, I was going to give myself some off time from the plan.  But once that off time was done, I had to get right back on and forgive any gains and move forward.  This time around, truly, knowing that I might possibly gain, I'm good with it, that it was only 2 pounds, I feel like there truly isn't anything to forgive.  It'll be off quicker than you know it and, as Jackie Gleason used to say......"And away we go!"

Thinking on those off times, I only have one more off time (the other 2 being my birthday, this last one being Thanksgiving and the upcoming one being Christmas) which I think is a reasonable thing to do.  I say that because of my mother-in-law.  She was doing this one plan, I struggle to remember it now, I remember it was through her church and she met with quite a bit of success and kept it off for a very long time.  The only problem in it was that she drove her family crazy, in that she would say she couldn't eat this or that or another thing because it wasn't on her diet.  Which is fine, but because she did the cooking, the rest of the family didn't get to eat either.  I seem to recall, my youngest brother-in-law doing a lot of McDonald's runs, lol.  Thankfully he's none the worse for the wear, he's like his older brother The Wonder One in that he's an athlete so the fast food didn't hurt him.  The Wonder One was working his first job at the time in a restaurant so he was able to eat at work, so no hardships there either.  However the problem came during the holidays because it was particularly tough because she would then become defensive and well, you could probably see where it went from there if you use your imagination.  I don't begrudge the woman her successes at all, the only thing I would recommend was that she would have allowed for a day or two of off time for special occasions so that she can have some built in forgiveness if it were to be that she "slipped up" as it happens that we all will do.  Otherwise you end up dealing with the guilt that comes with overeating and the vicious circle afterwards of self hatred and then you end up spiraling out of control.  We are after all only human.  When we have our weaknesses be they what they may (mine vary, but usually they are sweets) and you indulge them, you have to forgive them and move forward.  Otherwise you end up undoing all the hard work you've put in.  All too often people try to put off that they can ignore their baser instincts and not do whatever it is that is within them to do. However, in the end, they break down and do it anyway saying "Well, only this one time..." Trust me, I know, I've done it so many times.  That's why when I started this time around I thought long and hard about it and realized that I needed to have these times built in for myself so that I could indulge.  It's the getting back in the groove that's the hard part.  But I have The Wonder One to kick me in the pants and he's good for doing it and keeping me on track.  I firmly believe that knowing that I will be getting back on track, while not counting points but still knowing there is a deadline to my indulgence helped keep me from going overboard, but yet still having a good time..........I just realized, I'm going to have to allow for a fourth off time.  lol I forgot about my anniversary as we started the plan after our anniversary but before our birthdays and the holidays! lol Oh my.  But it's all good.  So long as I plan ahead and mentally prepare myself.  I'll be okay.

So..........until Christmas..........I'm back in the groove.

It's Wednesday...

So I'll just cut to the chase this week.

I'm not a big fat loser.  Well I am, but only because I didn't lose (insert pouty face here) this week.  I put a little bit back on.  What is a little bit you may be wondering?  Three pounds to be exact.  To some three pounds is a lot, but when you consider what all I have to lose and have lost, it's a little bit, lol.  Am I upset?  Not really.  Am I worried?  Nope.

"But Chubbybutt, you've been working so hard and have been doing so well, I'd be freaking out if I were you!" ahhh I understand my faithful cheerleader just what it is you are saying, however, I'm not worrying because, well, it is "that" time of the month.  I figure come next week, it'll all balance itself out.

If not, THEN I'll be freaking out!

So, until the next weigh in, keep an eye out for a yummy new review coming and a few other surprises I have up my sleeve for you.

Till then, hugs n' toodles, cheerleaders xoxox
